An Online Bachelor Degree From the Comfort of Your Home
Forget about sitting in a classroom for hours on end listening to a professor lecture about the impact of the United States stock market on the world’s economy or how leadership in management positions is an essential role in the success of a business. Since the inception of the Internet, businesses, the government and other organizations have moved to make their establishments more web-based. The idea of utilizing the World Wide Web in everyday business functions has also gravitated towards educational institutions. Colleges and universities are now offering programs that take advantage of the Internet, such as an online bachelor degree or other degree programs.
An online bachelor degree is just like a bachelor degree offered at a traditional university or college. The one exception is, however, that students attending an online institution complete their course work over the Internet, as opposed to sitting in a classroom. The idea of completing course work online gives students the flexibility and convenience of being able to make their own schedules. Going to class at a certain time everyday of the week is not feasible for some people that carry full-time jobs or those that are parents raising children. By taking classes online, students can work around their job schedule, as well as their family’s schedule.
There are a number of ways an online bachelor degree program can work, depending on the institution offering the program. In some instances, students are emailed course assignments and correspond with professors and other students through email. Some institutions offer chat rooms that professors set up so that students can interact with one another and ask questions that relate to the course work. Most professors also have websites that students can visit to look at the syllabus, obtain course assignments and find resources. Any way an online program is organized, the course work can be completed in the comfort of a student’s home.
It is important to keep in mind crucial deciding factors that should be considered when researching an online bachelor degree. Typically, the cost to attend an online institution is not as high as if a student were to attend a traditional college or university. There are no room and board charges because a student can stay where he or she is currently living and attend school. There are also not as many student fees associated because of the limited number of facilities associated with an online institution that need to be maintained. Because the course work is web based, there is not a need for numerous buildings housing different departments and classrooms.
Another deciding factor is the type of program an online degree offers. Programs depend on the type of institution offering the degree. An online bachelor degree is offered in a variety of programs and includes numerous concentrations. Students can study a business program with concentrations in accounting, management, marketing and business administration. Programs are also offered in computers and information technology, health and medical services management, as well as criminal justice. Each program is offered online and offers course work unique to each program.
A bachelor degree that is completed online is a feasible option for someone who already has diploma, certificate or a two-year degree, such as an associate degree and wants to further his or her education. Often, online students are professionals already in the career field that either want to advance in their current job or are looking to switch career fields. Because classes are completed online, it gives professionals the flexibility they need to accomplish their career goals.

The Key to Earning your Online Bachelor Degree
Getting a bachelor degree online is an excellent way to combat the skyrocketing cost of fees and other extraneous college expenses, whether you are just out of high school or an older, ?non-traditional? student returning after time away. Of course, earning an online bachelor degree poses many challenges as well. In general, however it is a convenient, economical and flexible way to get the kind of education needed in order to get ahead in the world today.
Getting started with college degrees online is probably the easiest step; there is no shortage of institutions offering a bachelor degree online. Currently, there are 162 fully accredited ?virtual? universities where one can earn a bachelor degree online. Many of these are in fact closely associated with traditional ?brick-and-mortar? universities.
One course of action that can save as much as $10,000 is to take freshman and sophomore ?general education? courses by examination. The name of this program is the College Level Examination Program, or CLEP. This program offers exams in all lower division subjects; it is possible to complete an Associate?s degree by examination. The best part is the cost; fees for a typical CLEP examination run approximately $100, and successful completion of such an exam is worth an average of six credit hours.
Consider the math, here. Whether you earn your bachelor degree online or not, you can expect to pay an average of $200 per credit hour. For less than a tenth of the cost of a year?s tuition, it?s possible to earn a full year of credits through CLEP examinations. It is however important to understand that some colleges limit the number of CLEP credits they will accept. Others have no limit; it?s worthwhile to do some homework beforehand and learn about the various policies different universities and colleges have on this issue.
Once you have completed the lower division work ? either through CLEP testing or coursework ? you are ready to commence your online bachelor degree program. Online course is not unlike taking a course in a traditional setting; you will have a professor who will provide a syllabus (course outline), there will usually be class discussions and required readings, and of course, examinations. The big difference is that you will do all of this without ever setting foot inside a classroom; you may never meet the professor face-to-face.
This said, it?s not as lonely as it might seem; thanks to the technological marvels of broadband, webcams, instant messaging, chat rooms, online forums and even podcasting, the student becomes part of a global learning community with classmates from all over the world.
College degrees online, while still quite new, are the future of education, and an excellent opportunity for the student to earn his/her online bachelor degree in a flexible environment.
Susan Slobac earned her college degree online and sees college degrees online as the future of education. She took advantage of an excellent opportunity to earn her online bachelor degree in a flexible environment and went on to become successful in her career. Susan takes the time from her busy career to cover the basics of college degrees online and describe what it takes to pursue your bachelors degree online.
What You Need To Get An Online Bachelor Degree
Many people find the flexibility of an online bachelor degree appealing. The old barriers to getting your degree such as interference with your work schedule or the commute aren’t issues with online classes. However, online education carries with it some barriers of its own. Here are four things you absolutely have to have in order to successfully pursue an online bachelor degree.
1: An up-to-date computer. In a traditional, classroom-based environment, no one has to know you wrote your assignments on a ten-year-old computer. The same can’t be said for online education. When pursuing your online bachelor degree, your computer will be the most important instrument of your education. You will most likely need recent computer software, as well, such as an Internet browser with which to access your online classes’ websites, Microsoft Word for writing assignments, and any industry-specific software pertaining to your classes.
Many libraries and schools have computer labs for the use of patrons and students. However, if you are pursuing an online bachelor degree you are strongly advised not to rely on public computers as your only machines. For one thing, saving files can be extremely tricky, as precautions against viruses prevent many public computers from connecting with data storage devices or downloading files. Also, by depending on a public computer lab you are confining your studies to the lab’s hours of operation, eliminating one of the main advantages of an online program: being able to “attend” class and complete coursework at any time of the day or night.
2: Reliable Internet access. You simply cannot pursue any online degree without the ability to get online. High-speed Internet access is also desirable, if not downright necessary. Dial-up Internet access is simply too slow to be very effective in today’s virtual world. Because you have to access complicated web pages and transfer large amounts of data, high-speed Internet access will save you a lot of time. Also, dial-up Internet is not always reliable, and the last thing you want while taking a test is to find yourself getting kicked offline.
Many prospective students consider publicly available Internet access, such as WiFi hotspots, as an alternative to having access of their own. However, online students are strongly discouraged from relying solely on being able to access the Internet at another location. For one thing, such a setup takes away all of the advantages of online classes, such as not having to commute and being able to complete coursework at any time of the day or night. Having to travel every time you need to access your class will also make it more difficult to find time to do so, and may result in poorer performance in the class.
3: Time to devote to your education. Although an online bachelor degree is much more flexible than a traditional, classroom-based degree, you still need to be able to set aside enough time for your studies. Unlike a traditional program, however, this can be any time of the day or night. Many schools recommend that you plan to spend three to five hours a week on each class, but this may vary for different programs. Be sure to check with your school to see how much time you should allot each week for each class.
Getting an online bachelor degree admittedly takes a little less time than pursuing a traditional program. This is because you do not have to spend several hours each week sitting in a classroom or commuting back and forth. However, many people make the mistake of assuming online means easy, and fail to realize how much time they will need to commit to their studies.
4: Self-motivation. For most people, probably the most difficult aspect of getting an online bachelor degree is relying on their own motivation to get the work done. In a traditional classroom setting, you have class several times a week and your teacher’s reminders to keep you on track with the coursework. You also have the instructor’s lectures to help you learn the material. In an online program, however, it will be entirely up to you to learn the material, remember to log in regularly, and keep up on the reading and assignments.
An online bachelor degree has many advantages over traditional degree programs. The flexibility is especially appealing for many people. However, one should not assume that just because online education is more flexible, that means it will also be easier. In order to successfully complete your online bachelor degree, you still need to be able and willing to invest your resources in your education, just as with any traditional degree program.

The New Educational Standard: Online Bachelor Degree
About 10 years ago a new wave of information was about to hit the world, and it would be called the World Wide Web, which would prove to change the educational world forever. After just a few months of the internet forming, educational institutions started to offer courses via the internet. As technology matured, so did the educational course offerings. After just a few short years the internet has become the place for online degrees. First it was the online associate’s degree, and now it has become the online bachelor degree that has taken over as the online educational standard for those wanting to take college level courses online.
Many people had believed that earning an online bachelor degree was something that would never happen. The skeptics would say that the quality of the education, or the coveted campus experience would evaporate with online bachelor degree programs in place. This however did not turn out to be true. In fact there are many ways that the online colleges have exceeded expectations when it comes to quality. The online programs have continued to be a powerful and popular degree to earn.
Educational institutions are constantly seeking new sources of revenue to maintain what is often a very expensive educational cycle, and the online bachelor degree provides just the right financial boost these institutions so desperately need. The online bachelor degree allows universities to obtain more qualified students, for less cost than the school would pay for the same student to attend classes on campus. The program provides a unique source of revenue for the schools to take advantage, through a high rate of interest, and a low overhead cost associated with developing, and implementing the courses.
Most online bachelor degree programs are based around a self paced structure that allows the student to shoulder most of the burden of gaining an education, which in turn allows the school to profit from a program in ways never before seen. Online degree programs currently are in high demand, and thus the numbers of enrolled students goes up. Along with this the students are given a simple piece of software, typically on the internet that they use to access the class. Besides paying the instructor, whom acts more as a moderator in this format than an instructor, there are little other costs for an institution when it comes to the online bachelor degree. It is a very attractive circumstance for all that are involved.
With the overwhelming interest in online bachelor degree programs across the nation there is surely a feeling of growth when it comes to online courses, and the schools associated with them. There is simply too much profit to cut them, especially in an educational world where budget cuts seem to never end, and the cost of good faculty is consistently on the rise. For all of the above reasons it is the online bachelor degree that should guide the best schools financially into the next decade of online instruction. With the large amount of computer literate high school students, it is no wonder that many online bachelor degree programs are gearing up for their highest enrollment yet.

An Online Bachelor Degree Can Help You Change it All
Getting an online bachelor degree can be one of the best things you do for yourself. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 1.8 percent of employees with a bachelor’s degree are unemployed, compared to 6.5 percent of those who completed high school. The same source reveals that employees with a bachelor’s degree earn an average $30,000 more annually than employees who only have a high school education. Those with bachelor degrees also report more promotions and a higher level of satisfaction in their jobs.
All the above are good reasons to get an online bachelor degree. Not only are you qualified for a better job, especially in today’s job market where many jobs require at least one college degree, but you can do better in your chosen career and enjoy a larger paycheck, as well. That’s not all, though. By pursuing your degree online, you also enjoy some added benefits.
By looking for your degree options online, you can save yourself considerable money. Tuition at brick-and-mortar universities and colleges increases every year, and those who put off pursuing their degree for even a year or two can end up paying tens of thousands of dollars extra. Many people do not pursue their college degree because of the cost now and because of the inconvenience of pursuing studies full time. After all, pursuing a degree at a traditional brick-and-mortar university or college often means long commutes and giving up your current day job. An online bachelor degree is the perfect solution. With an online education, you save money upfront, since you don’t have to pay for commutes, moves, or building fees. All you pay for is your instruction and books, and most online programs even have financial aid to assist you with your costs.
The best reason of all to pursue degree online is that an online bachelor degree means that you do not have to put off a better life for even a minute. While on-campus programs are limited by what a school has to offer, you can choose the ideal distance program for you online in just minutes, no matter where you live. If you wanted an on-campus program in botany, for example, but your local school did not offer that program, you would be either forced to give up your current life in order to move to a school that did offer the program, or you would have to give up your dream. That is simply not a choice you should have to make, and with an online bachelor degree, you do not have to. You can select the distance education program of your choice and study in your spare time, without dramatically altering your current life. You can work towards a better life, one that is better paying and more rewarding, without giving up what you have now.
If your life is not quite what you want it to be right now, an online bachelor degree will certainly help. If you think your life would be better with a more rewarding career, then distance education can help you find a career you will love. If you have never pursued a dream job because you felt you were not qualified, distance education can change that all around. If you want the sense of recognition and personal satisfaction that comes with knowing that you are doing something good for yourself, pursue a degree. You will be pleasantly surprised at the results, both in your own sense of self-worth and in the actual career opportunities that open up for you. From practical benefits such as better salary and better job to intangible benefits such as improved confidence, you can have it all.

Making the Decision: Should You Get an Online Bachelor Degree?
Just as with any education decision, an online bachelor degree should not be something that you take lightly. In this day of fierce competition and an even fiercer pace, learning is one of the reliable methods to furthering yourself and your career. But are online bachelor degrees something that will get you to where you want to go?
The idea of an online bachelor degree can seem too easy. Because there’s no real classroom and no teacher than you can see necessarily, it sometimes seems like a completely virtual landscape that might not carry the same weight as a traditional university setting. While that might have been the case in earlier years of correspondence classes and courses, the Internet has proven to be the right setting for learning about the global marketplace. You can reach out to distant schools and learning resources without ever leaving your home or stepping on campus. And because the Internet has become so widely used, the idea of being schooled through its technology is also becoming more accepted.
The first thing that’s on your mind is whether or not your next employer is going to look at your online bachelor degree and feel that it is legitimate. After all, you don’t want to spend a lot of your time or your money on something that might be deemed worthless in the place where it matters the most. According to recent studies, businesses hiring professionals are now considering an online degree to be just as acceptable as a university degree. However, it does depend where you get your online degree. For example, choosing a widely known school is the better option than the cheapest Internet educational institution that no one has ever heard of. A good rule to follow is that well known schools are equated with turning out well respected degrees.
There are a vast number of online bachelor degree programs to choose from as well. For example, you might want to take a business degree program or private sector accounting. Others like the option of taking the in demand health services programs. No matter what you might be interested in, there may very well be an online school for you, so thinking that you can’t find what you’re looking for from an online bachelor degree isn’t really a good excuse.
And of course, there’s the question of whether or not the college environment is something that might be necessary for your career in the future. Maybe there really is something to being on campus and interacting with fellow students. With an online bachelor degree, you might actually find it easier to study and focus on your studies because of the lack of social interaction and peer pressure. However, if you feel that you need that sort of stimulation, perhaps an online degree is not a good fit.
Just as with any serious schooling, you will also want to ask yourself about whether you can handle the pressure and the work that goes along with an online bachelor degree. Because the courses are more intense due to the limited interaction with a teacher and a student, you might have trouble motivating yourself to do the coursework on your own. An online bachelor degree program is very much self guided, and that can teach you very quickly about the importance of time management.
The choice to get an online bachelor degree is one that only you can make. However, if you’re looking for a campus that’s always open and that can give you the individualized attention that you crave, going to an online school can be a great way to get a degree.

Getting A Business Bachelor Degree Online Can Boost Your Career
If you want a business career, but find a traditional school to be too much of a time or money commitment, a business bachelor degree online may be right for you. There are many schools to choose from, and these degrees can allow you to advance in your career. Plus, since the business bachelor degree online programs can be completed from home, in a self-paced, guided independent-study environment, you can continue in your current job while studying. This allows more flexibility for students who cannot afford the time or money to go to traditional full-time schools.
A business bachelor degree online is not for everyone, however. Also, not all business bachelor degree online programs are good ones. Some programs offer little value and are not recognized by employers. Also, not all programs will prepare you for the employment opportunities you may want. For these reasons, it is a good idea to target a job first and then look into the business bachelor degree online programs that are right for that job. Before looking for degree programs, look for an industry or, better yet, a specific position that you want. Speak to the people in charge of hiring in the industry or specific company. Find out whether they even consider business bachelor online degrees as qualifications. If they do, find out which degrees are well thought of in the industry. This will save you much aggravation and will help you narrow down your program options to include only the ones that can actually help you achieve your goals.
Once you have your list of business bachelor degree online programs, look at your choices more closely. Any program you consider should be accredited, or recognized as a legitimate educational opportunity. Also, compare programs specifically. Find out who will be teaching you and how easily you can reach your instructors for help. See if past graduates were happy with the program and if they obtained good jobs after graduating. Getting answers to each of these questions will give you a better look at your options. In general, look for the business bachelor degree online program with the happiest, and most successful graduates and the programs with promising, attentive instructors.
If you are getting your business bachelor degree online, you will also need to find money for your schooling. Online programs tend to be less expensive than their in-class counterparts. There is no classroom time to pay for and no commuting expenses. Online programs have lower overhead costs and so may charge you less. Of course, you will also not have to move across the country and move into a dorm to complete your business bachelor degree online. However, you do still have to pay for books, fees, and tuition costs, and these can add up, even if you are working while you pursue your degree. Some schools offer financial aid even for distance and online education students. Check with the financial aid office of your school of choice if this is going to be a necessity for you. Also, don’t overlook your employer as a potential source of scholarships. Many employers help their employees pay for their education since education creates better employees. It certainly doesn’t hurt to ask whether there is any sort of program in place at your workplace.
Finally, you will want to budget your time while you pursue your business bachelor degree online. While online programs do allow you to work and study at the same time, keep in mind that good programs do require considerable time and effort to complete. If you are working and studying, you will need to schedule study time so that you can focus on your education, too, and get the skills you need to advance your career. Creating a timetable and getting assistance around the house can help. Since most online programs are self-paced and take less time than traditional degrees, the suddenly-large workload is only temporary and you can certainly fit your studies into whatever free time you have now, but once you sign up for the program, be sure to stay committed to it.

Online Bachelor Degree Costs - Is A Degree Actually Worth The Cost? (A Case Study)
Obtaining a bachelor degree qualification can certainly be a positive step towards an enjoyable and successful career but it has significant educational costs that need to be considered. How does the investment in your education actually pay off in the long run financially? This article looks at how the numbers stack up.
Ok, to begin with we must look at what an online bachelor degree actually costs. The direct cost of education can range anywhere from $2000 to $30,000 a year at some high profile private schools. But for the purpose of this article we are going to use an average figure of $6,500 per year. We then need to add another $800 per year for textbooks, stationary and supplies which brings us to $7300 per year. Based on this, the total cost of a 4 year course the is $29,200. For the ease of understanding lets round that up to $30,000 just to keep it simple.
The direct cost of the education is not the main expense however. The highest online bachelor degree cost (which is not always considered) is the additional cost (or income loss) of the student not working full time while carrying out their bachelor degree program. By choosing to go to college or university to obtain a degree the student’s ability to get a start in his or her chosen career is delayed by a minimum of four years. With this in mind the additional cost of lost income could easily add up to over $100,000 while you are studying for your bachelors degree. For the sake of this article lets use $80,000 or $20,000 per year.
This gives us a total online bachelor degree cost of $110,000. Quite significant money indeed. But does it pay off?
The US Bureau of Labour Statistics recently published data showing that during the first quarter of 2008 full time professionals with bachelors degrees earned a median weekly salary of $1,108 while workers who only had high school diplomas earned a median weekly salary of $615. However I believe this does not give a true indication of the earnings increase the degree actually contributed to as in general the type of people who earn degrees would probably earn an above average wage with or without the degree. So for this discussion I will increase the non degree income by 50% to account for this which equates to a weekly income of $922.
On this basis the degree holders earn on average an additional $186 per week or an annual increase of $9672. So without taking into account other factors such as taxation and inflation it would take 11 years and 4 months for the initial online bachelor degree cost to be covered by the increased earning potential it provides. Over the average working lifespan of 40 years the degree would have earned an additional $386,880. This is more than three times the additional cost!
So you can see from this, that it is clear that obtaining a degree certainly does pay off financially. However it is also important to remember that education has many other benefits that will enrich your life.

Getting an Accredited Online Bachelor Degree
An accredited online bachelor degree is now much more available as a result of the very significant improvements there have been with both the personal computer and communication technology.
If you decide to enrol in an online university degree program, you can access all the course work provided by your chosen university via Internet, email, discussion forums etc. With the passage of time, the online university degree programs have gained immense popularity. There are many reasons for the growing popularity of the accredited online bachelor degree programs. Lets take a closer look at the advantages of an online bachelor degree and the online universities.
The most important advantage of getting your degree online is the flexibility offered by the online universities. You can work at your own pace in your courses. They do not demand any stringent commitment to specific times. Also, if you wish to do the work you can get your bachelor degree faster than with a traditional university. They can be completed in as little as 18 months but it does require at lot of hard work.
An accredited bachelor degree is recognized all over the world regardless of whether it was earned online or in a traditional classroom setting. So you need not worry about the authenticity of the online university degree programs. There is a wide range of options for online bachelor degree and online universities. So make sure that you spend adequate time on research and enrol in one of the best, most reputable universities.
An online university degree program will also allow you to earn a living while you are studying. Because there are no time restrictions, you are free to do what you like and take your own time to finish the courses. One of the best things about e-learning is that you don’t have to travel or relocate to study for your bachelor’s degree.
You won’t find much difference between an online bachelor degree and a regular campus bachelor degree so it is ideal for students who are working or have family commitments. Regular attendance at a campus doesn’t play a role in an online degree program.
There is absolutely no reason for not choosing an online program. The certificate that you will get at the end of the course from the online university will not specify whether you earned an online bachelor degree or a traditional degree. So think before you actually dismiss the idea of earning an accredited online bachelors degree.
Remember, you have nothing lose and everything to gain!

What Must Be Done To Increase The Value Of A Bachelor Degree?
It appears that a bachelor degree is not enough anymore to guarantee a permanent job with benefits and sustainable wage. There is even more uncertainty with a graduate degree. Are institutions too generous in awarding degrees? Are there too many colleges today? Too many online programs? Receiving a bachelor degree used to be an elite achievement but now is seems like they are too readily available.
Online Bachelor Degree Costs - What is the Cost of an Online Bachelors Degree Course?
The cost of online bachelor degrees can vary significantly, depending on the online campus you go through. Sometimes called distance learning centers, most of them have the similar characteristics that you can complete your coursework and get your lectures, questions and assignments from your Instructor all via the internet.
It is a common requirement that you login a certain minimum of days per week, but you can choose the days and times, so it offers 100% flexibility enabling you to work your study in around your current lifestyle, unlike campus training. Some of them have learning teams where you can collaborate on assignments.
Online bachelor degrees are a great way to further your education and make you more marketable in a job search. While learning from the convenience of your home, it allows you to save travel expense and hassle. Some of the online campuses offer accelerated programs that allow you to learn at your own pace and get completed much quicker.
Online Bachelor degree costs are also dependent on whether you are eligible for financial assistance or employer tuition reimbursement, and some of the online degree costs are based on the price per credit hour, usually around a few hundred dollars. Some students may be eligible for grants and assistance, based on their income.
The other thing that determines the online degree cost is whether you will be using student loans, or paying as you go. You need to be comfortable with the terms and conditions of the loans, and make sure they will be comfortable for you to repay after you have completed the online course.
Online Bachelor Degree costs can be more affordable, if you are a resident of the State that the online college degree is through, for example, $11,000 versus up to $50,000 for a non-resident, although some online bachelor degree costs are the same at many online universities and can range from $15,000 to $25,000. Depending on which online campus you decide on, they are all somewhat similar in costs, and you can get an accredited online Bachelor degree cost for under $32,000, most generally.
When shopping for online degrees, you need to do the research to make sure the college is accredited by Council on Higher Education or U.S. Department of Education. There are some fake accreditation agencies out there, over 30 of them, in fact, so be careful. If the online Bachelor degree costs seem too cheap, it is probably reason for alarm. By using the amounts above as a guideline, you should be able to find an accredited online campus for your degree.
An online Bachelors degree from a college that is not accredited is not worth the paper it is written on. While most of the online campuses are legitimate, there are some scams out there that might lead you to believe you can purchase one for a few thousand by passing a simple test, completing an application in a very short amount of time, or claim you have earned it based on your resume.
Making The Most Of Earning An Online Bachelor Degree
Obtaining an online bachelor degree can be a hefty task for a number of reasons, but the rewards are far greater than what is required to get the degree. Most degree programs are created on a subject by subject basis, allowing students to take a wide variety of classes, and earn a degree that will prepare them for a certain field at the same time. It is a no nonsense approach to education that allows for both the student, and the institution to gain a valuable experience in the online bachelor degree program.
Most online bachelor degree programs are self paced, or done in a way to allow the student to login at his or her convenience. This method creates an opportunity for students to succeed online, where they would normally fail attending a physical school. Taking classes online will allow a student to hypothetically work full time, and still receive an education in the evenings. Also, online bachelor degree programs are typically accelerated, which allows for a student to finish sooner than their peers do at a physical campus college.
The accelerated pace of online bachelor degree programs should be considered when planning for time to study. If an average college student is in class 12 hours per week, and doing homework another 12 hours per week, you can assume to be doing the same, if not more. Since the self paced courses allow one to login at whatever time they would like to do so, it can be hard structuring all the hours for your online bachelor degree program work. It is imperative to set a weekly schedule, and make every attempt possible to follow through with it in order to get good grades in your online bachelor degree program.
So much has been said about the quality of work for online programs, but it is rarely mentioned that the same books, and educational tools used for traditional programs, are used for online bachelor degree programs as well. In fact, the text book you will receive for your freshman English course at a reputable online bachelor degree program could very well be the same book used on a physical campus for an Ivy league school. For the first time, this level of education is as competitive as traditional programs, and can allow for non-traditional students to get a degree on their own time.
Concentrating on the schoolwork is one way to make sure your online program is a one full of good grades. Many new students in online bachelor degree programs typically do not realize how much can be gained by simply doing the work each night. Think of the program as a long train sitting on a track, if each car in the train has to be inspected before the end of the year, is it not easier to inspect at least 1 car each day? Of course it is, just as one would not wait till the last minute to inspect a train car for safety, one should not wait till the last minute to complete all the course work. The more work that is done for your online bachelor degree program each day, the easier it is to finish the online bachelor degree program on time.
Nobody will tell you everything you need to know when it comes to succeeding in a competitive online bachelor degree program, but it is important to take note of the above information in order to get ahead in the program of your choice.

Online Bachelor Degree Programs Go Mainstream
The Internet has seen an explosion in online bachelor degree programs in the last five to ten years and this trend should continue to expand rapidly in the future. In large part the increasing popularity of online bachelor degree programs is due to the now common acceptance of a bachelor degree from on online university as equivalent to what can be obtained at any bricks and mortar school.
When online classes first began springing up on the Internet in the 1980s, they were primarily focused on certificate programs or technical degrees. Some of the schools were started virtually overnight and did not have proper accreditation and the reputation of online schooling became tarnished as a result. However, in the last decade there has been a significant turn-around. There are several reasons for this new attitude, due largely to the increasingly exceptional education that can be had through an online university.
Today’s online bachelor degree programs rival traditional university classes. Colleges and universities that had already established reputations as traditional schools long before hitting the Internet now offer these online programs. Employers know that the curriculum is identical whether the course is online or in a classroom, so the education is top-notch in either case. In fact, there is often more one-on-one attention with an online bachelor degree program because each student can regularly communicate directly with the professor by email to get feedback and direction.
Good online bachelor degree programs are now accredited by the same agencies that accredit more traditional colleges and universities. Three accreditation organizations that are recognized by the Federal Government as high quality indicators are the U.S. Department of Education, Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), and Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Any online universities accredited by one of these councils offers a program recognized as at least equal to a bachelor’s degree program at a traditional post-secondary school.
In fact, if you graduate from an online bachelor degree program today you will receive a diploma that is no different from the one that students attending the residential college will receive. You will have completed the same curriculum, including taking core requirement classes, and will graduate with the same knowledge. When applying for jobs, employers will not know whether you attended traditional classes or online classes because it is no longer acknowledged on official transcripts or diplomas.
Employers favor online bachelor degree programs for their employees. Employers have always known the value of allowing employees to pursue a college education. In the past, this was usually done through night and weekend classes and the employer sometimes reimbursed costs. Unfortunately many class schedules aren’t flexible and employers began to realize the expense of university classes in both money and time.
An online bachelor degree program has become the ideal solution for employers who encourage an education for employees. They can set their own pace and work schooling around their work schedule. The cost of online classes is generally less than the classroom setting as well, making it attractive for company reimbursement programs.
Finally, employers appreciate the additional opportunities that an online bachelor degree program can offer. Because individuals do all of the work online, location is not an issue. If a computer salesman with an associate’s degree would like to focus on a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, for instance, he can look for an online university anywhere in the United States that offers this specialized degree.
With everyone from accrediting agencies to employers giving them high marks, online bachelor degree programs have firmly arrived in the educational mainstream.
Becoming More Competitive With an Online Bachelor Degree
Many of students first enter into job market with an associate degree. The busy working life and family commitments have caused many of those students who started their career with an associate degree to stuck with the degree and limit their career advancement opportunities due to lack of higher degree in specific career field. If you are among those who intend to earn a credential with a bachelor qualification in your career field, but your commitments prevent you from quitting your job; then you could benefit from the advantages of online education to earn yourself a bachelor degree and become more competitive in your working field.
Although many jobs that required only associate degree to start with and then go through a series of on-the-job training and post-secondary training, but a related work experience with a bachelor degree can give you the competitive edge to work your way up to supervisor or management level. The employer always select the best candidate when they want to promote an employee to a management or higher position, you must be the one to be considered the best person for the position if you want to successfully being promoted, you will lose your competitiveness if you just have the working experience but without a bachelor or higher degree as your education background.

It is during this process of learning that you can finally recognize what are and are not your strengths.? Perhaps you thought you wanted to pursue something in math, but once in your degree program you find you have a love and affinity for languages.? This revelation might the inspire you to look at different exciting career fields than you ever had thought of and would not have even considered if you didn?t pursue your bachelors.
Another great reason to obtain your bachelors has to do with people.? The truth is that the kinds of people we are exposed to and surround ourselves with is the thing that has the single biggest impact on our lives.? Those that have gone through the discipline and work to achieve at least a Bachelor?s Degree tend to be more motivated, have bigger goals and in general are more ambitious than those that do not take the trouble to pursue higher education.? If you attend college you will meet and form relationships with a whole new world of people that are an entire world away those who stopped at high school.? Similarly, if you obtain your Bachelor?s Degree online, the jobs you will be able to get with the degree will introduce you to a whole new caliber of people, not to mention open up the doors to much higher earnings down the line.

Earn Bachelor Degree Online

You may be wondering where you can find a college offering online bachelor degree programs and you also want to know whether or not there are affordable college degrees online. In truth, College degrees online often cost substantially less than they do at traditional ?brick and mortar? institutions. In fact, by employing one of online learning?s best-kept secrets, it is possible to complete the first two years for only 10% of the cost of a traditional college!
The secret is the College Level Examination Program, or CLEP. The program has long been used by the military and other professionals to pick up fast continuing education credits. Full tuition at traditional colleges can run $200 per credit hour or more; credit by examination is less than $25 per credit hour. By ?testing out? of lower division coursework, those seeking to earn a bachelor degree online can save nearly half on tuition costs.
Is attendance at a college offering online bachelor degrees right for you? If you have clearly defined goals and a thorough understanding of how a degree will help achieve that goal, are self-motivated and have good time management skills (i.e., are able to work effectively without supervision), and have what psychologists call an ?internal locus of control,? chances are that you will be very successful in your pursuit of an online college degree; bachelor programs that are Internet-based will work well for you. It also helps to have the support of your family and significant others; after all, coursework at any college offering online degrees will mean significant adjustments and sacrifices. Typically, every credit hour taken requires anywhere from two to three hours of study per week. Because of this, it doesn?t hurt to have the support of an employer, either.
On the subject of employers, if you work at a company with 100 or more employees, it may be worth your while to find out if tuition reimbursement is something your employer offers as an employee benefit. According to IRS regulations, an employer may provide a worker with up to $5250 tax-free dollars per year as tuition reimbursement, and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate that over 50% of such employers do offer some type of tuition assistance. Keep in mind however that such assistance comes with strings attached; usually, this coursework must be job-related, and employers generally require you to commit to the position for a given length of time or repay any tuition and fees covered by the company.
After researching the rising costs of college tuition, Susan Slobac became aware of how affordable college degrees online were. She quickly realized that a college offering online bachelor degrees made perfect sense for her lifestyle and budget. Susan details how to locate online college degree bachelor programs and discusses the process to earn bachelor degrees online.
How Can You Spot a Fake Online Bachelor Degree?
As the demand for the online Bachelor degree rises, so do the number of fake colleges and universities.? Some actually offer diplomas for sale to potential customers through bulk emails.? However, many take advantage of innocent and unsuspecting students by offering lower than normal tuition fees, credit for life experiences, no tests, and an easy road to that coveted diploma. If it sounds too good to be true, it generally is the case.
So, how do prospective students determine whether an online college is accredited or only offering bogus online Bachelor degrees?? Especially for International students, it can be very difficult to determine a school’s validity. In most cases it is impossible for distance learners to visit the campus, so the website is the only point of contact before making the choice and enrolling, which makes it hard to determine credibility.
One of the qualifying factors that can be utilized by students to make correct enrolment decisions is by determining the type of college accreditation that has been received by their college of consideration. If the college vaguely states itself as having “nationwide or worldwide accreditation” without stating specifically which regional accreditation body it is accredited with, then most likely this college does not possess legitimate accreditation.
The six accreditation agencies given the authority to grant college and university accreditation are entrusted with governing the institutions within their geographical section of the United States as follows: New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA), Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA), Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS), Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU). With specific states for each agency, it is easier to check whether an online learning facility is accredited and registered.
Another tell-tale sign of bogus online bachelor degrees offered is when the university advertises itself through mass-mailing email featuring university degrees for sale. Many bogus distance learning institutions prey on people who are desperate for a degree, but don’t have the time and money to go for proper education. That is why these colleges boast of degrees without any examinations, classes, studying or even waiting. There are even websites that offer online bachelor degrees for just a few hundred dollars which can be ordered and received within 7 days. Furthermore, some of them also have dubious accrediting links, stating accreditation from agencies which are not any one of the six listed above. Additionally, they offer fixed prices for their Master’s, Bachelor’s, and even Doctorate Degrees. Their justification for awarding degrees will be for giving credit to life experiences such as any type of work experience, any educational background, any workshops or community services attended as well as travel experience, hobbies and even on the number of books that a person has read!
In short, because of the influx of fake degrees, it leaves the employers worried about the legitimacy of online Bachelor Degrees. Thus to avert these fears and ensure you get a job with an online degree, it is imperative to carefully select a college that possesses all the support and resources to provide quality education approved by the U.S. Department of Education, and granted accreditation through one of the 6 designated agencies with the authority to award proper accreditation to legit institutions.
